Formed in 1977 in London's East End, the COCKNEY REJECTS are among the most important representatives of British street punk, along with bands like SHAM 69, ANGELIC UPSTARTS, 4 SKINS and COCK SPARRER. Their song "Oi, Oi, Oi" from their album Greatest Hits Vol. II (1980) inspired the musical genre named after it. The band, known for their 1980 album debut "Greatest Hits, Vol. 1", has since released 13 long players in various line-ups, including various singles, EPs and compilation features.
After a ten-year hiatus, the COCKNEY REJECTS return in a new line-up - JEFF GEGGUS (vocals), MICK GEGGUS (guitar), VINCE RIORDAN (bass) and JOE PERRY SANSOME (drums) - with the longplayer "Powergrab". The album, produced by KEVIN POREE (PAUL YOUNG, DR FEELGOOD, WILKO JOHNSON), combines the musical qualities of the band, from punk sound to hard rock sounds.
