Turkish right-wing extremism, known in Germany as the “Grey Wolves” or the Ülkücü movement, is the second-largest far-right movement in Germany with around 12,000 supporters. The ideology of Turkish right-wing extremism is deeply influenced by authoritarian, nationalist, racist, anti-Semitic, and queerphobic elements. Equally striking is the conspiracy thinking in Turkish right-wing extremism, which is accompanied by numerous enemy stereotypes, including against Armenians, Jews, Kurds, and the West in general. In recent years, anti-Semitism related to Israel in particular has grown in relevance and intensity within Turkish right-wing extremism, as demonstrated by the anti-Israel mobilizations since October 7, 2023. Küpeli sheds light on the history, ideology, actors, and networks of the Turkish far right, but also presents anti-fascist counterstrategies.
