How to understand the concept of social class in the context of the 21st century
To what extent does class influence phenomena such as gentrification, precarious working conditions, the role of elite groups and access to education? How does class affect activism and social change? How have scholars and thinkers considered the concept of class in the past and how is it still relevant today?
"Class. An Illustrated Handbook" offers an engaging and insightful introduction for students, activists and anyone working in or interested in the social sector. This graphic novel challenges conventional and stigmatising assumptions about the working class, takes a critical look at the colonial origins of the class system and explores how class intersects with race, gender, disability and age.
This up-to-date and engagingly illustrated handbook is a valuable resource for anyone who wants to understand how social class affects their own lives.
